In early June, Chesapeake Aerial Photo spent an afternoon on Bob Ingersoll’s farm near Chestertown, Maryland. Bob and his brother are converting their hay fields to environmentally friendly pheasant habitat. Once established, they hope to not only bring native pheasants back to Maryland’s Eastern Shore but develop a new source of income attracting paying hunters to their land. It is one of the many ways that the Ingersoll’s have transitioned from traditional farming to new and innovative ways to use their land. Along with hunting, they are generating solar power and are in the process of converting a barn into a performance space.
Working together with the Chesapeake Conservancy, the Ingersoll’s have built ponds to capture runoff and returned the land to a much more natural state.
Microsoft Cloud’s latest commercial features Bob Ingersoll and the Ingersoll farm as well as footage shot by Chesapeake Aerial Photo on that summer afternoon in June. All aerial footage in the commercial was shot by Chesapeake Aerial Photo.
